British International School Bratislava_Learning Technology Integration Specialist_Damian Eastwood

Learning Technology Integration Specialist

I joined BISB in as a Learning Technology Integrator although I have worked at the school before as a part-time teacher of Mathematics. In the past, I have worked in several Nord Anglia schools including BIS Shanghai and BIS Vietnam, where I worked in IT management.

My professional interest is the use of information technologies in the context of education. I am interested in the possibilities of using technology to extend and enhance learning opportunities in and outside the classroom. I am also interested in the potential of IT to support school management and improve school effectiveness.

For the past three years I have been a volunteer leader and supervisor for BISB's International Award program working with young people to develop skills, service and a love of the outdoors.

Outside of work, I am quite domesticated. I enjoy cooking, gardening and looking after our home. I like to read popular history, philosophy and psychology books and I teach conversational English classes in the evenings. My real love is singing and playing the guitar which I do most weekends.
