Kim Haddock

University and Careers Guidance Counsellor

I graduated from Nottingham University studying Geography and Archaeology followed by a PGCE in Secondary Education. I’ve never looked back, teaching has become my way of life and passion.

Over the years I have taken career breaks in order to raise my four children. I have taught Geography and ICT over my career and enjoy both equally.

Over the past 20 years, my focus has been on the pastoral care of young people as a Joint Head of Sixth Form in a British school. As part of this position I was overseeing the University applications through UCAS and played an important role in preparing young people for the next phase of their academic journey. More recently I decided to take the plunge into International Education and have spent the last 5 years in Oman working with young Omanis helping them to choose career pathways and universities that reflect their aspirations.

I am excited to join the British International School in Bratislava, where I am looking forward to working with all the students. My emphasis will be in helping and guiding them towards making the very important decisions about their possible future plans, that is: choosing the course and University that is right for them.

Outside of school, I love travelling and most recently have visited Sri Lanka, Zanzibar, Italy and Australia just to name a few. I also enjoy walking and am looking forward to exploring the beautiful countryside of Slovakia.
