It has been almost a year since the world started battling the novel coronavirus pandemic. It taught people from all walks of life many lessons, including us here at Northbridge International School Cambodia, but not many that are more impactful than giving importance to our health.

Giving importance to our health and that of others during these challenging times does not only depend on the amount of sanitizer we rub on our hands, the kind of masks we wear, but most especially by how responsible and considerate we are to others.

If you hear stories from people around the world who had already experienced the devastation brought about by COVID-19, we will realize that all it took was a simple step to take, which could have prevented contracting the virus from happening in the first place.

It takes only an instance of not washing our hands, or maybe not putting our mask on, or perhaps not observing social distancing from someone without protection. These simple steps could have prevented getting the virus and impacting not only your lives, but those around you.

Being responsible by adhering to health protocols, which are not hard to do, will potentially save not only your life, but also the lives of people within your community. Whatever role we may play in our community - whether you're a teacher, a student, staff or parent - we need to always be considerate to others. We have classes to attend, lessons to be taught to students, family to be with, things to do and achieve in life and health to protect, just like everyone else.

Whether you are at home, at work, or anywhere else, if we make these steps a habit, in our own little way, you, me, and everyone big or small, could make a difference. Although we are many communities, we are one. One in mind and heart in making NISC a safe and healthy place for all of us.

Comply with health protocols. Always wash your hands and wear a mask.

Observe social distancing.

Value life, be healthy!

Inform relevant persons if you are not well or if you think you might pose a risk to others. Be responsible!

Do it for yourself, for your loved ones and the whole world around us!
