Staff Profile - Dave Reed

Secondary School Counsellor

Dave has a Certificate in International School Counseling and has been involved with Northbridge since 2009. He comes originally from South Africa, but has been involved with education in Asia since 2001.

  • Bachelor of Arts in Education and English, University of South Africa

  • Post Graduate Certification in Education( PGCE) - Secondary and Further Education and Training (FET), University of South Africa
  • Certificate in International School Counselling, The PTC

Dave is Northbridge's counsellor for students between Grades 6 to 12 and helps students with anything that is preventing them from enjoying their time at Northbridge. Helping students resolve conflicts with friends, teachers, and parents is a common activity that takes place in the counselling office.

He also helps Diploma Students with their university selection and application. He assists upper school students in mapping timelines for their university exams including the PSAT, SAT, SAT Subject, IELTS and /TOEFL exams.

As the safeguarding lead at Northbridge, Dave also helps to identify child protection concerns and provide or identify help for students while helping to prevent these concerns from escalating. This role protects our students from any harm that can interfere with their development, learning and general well-being.
