Kathryn O'Connell

Staff Profile - Kate O'Connell

Grade 2 Teacher, Learning Leader and NAU PD Lead

Kathryn moved from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia to Phnom Penh in July to join the Northbridge faculty.  She comes from a background of public, private and university teaching with extensive experience as a professional musician.

  • Master’s in Curriculum and Instruction, Michigan State University
  • Bachelor Degree of Elementary Education with Spanish and History Minors, Michigan State University
  • International Baccalaureate Primary Years Program Workshop Leader

Originally from the United States, she has taught both at home and abroad. Her international school experience includes working in Tianjin, China; Dar es Salaam, Tanzania; Chiang Mai, Thailand and now Phnom Penh, Cambodia.

From Michigan State University she attained her Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education and Masters of Arts in Curriculum & Instruction, both received with honors.  She has a strong passion for education and leadership that has only grown with her 20 years of teaching experience. As she enjoys working with students of all ages, this experience has ranged from teaching 4 year olds through to adults.  As an International Baccalaureate Primary Years Workshop Leader, she has also led 9 different PYP workshops. She is here with her husband, Donal and two children, Alanna and DJ.
