Yabei Chen

Staff Profile - Yabei Chen

PYP/MYP/DP Dance Teacher

Yabei Chen has a Masters Degree in Dance Education from UNCO. She has been teaching dance for the past 8 years and joins Northbridge International School Cambodia from The Netherlands where she was working at the American School of the Hague and teaching at private dance studios.

Yabei is an Asian American, born in China and raised in Pennsylvania. She began her teaching career at Northfield Mount Hermon School in Western Massachusetts where she was a Dance Teacher, Junior Dance Company Director, and Dorm Parent. She moved to The Netherlands in 2013 to pursue her love of international travel and teaching. In Holland, she worked at the American School of the Hague as an Elementary Teaching Assistant and taught dance at the European Space Agency, Leiden University, and other private Dutch studios. In 2016, Yabei obtained a Masters in Dance Education Degree from the University of Northern Colorado. She is an advocate for Arts Integration and Dance Literacy.

Yabei moved to Phnom Penh with her husband, Logan, and cat, Sesame. In her spare time she enjoys sewing, traveling, attending performances, hiking, and cooking. She is overjoyed to be a part of the Northbridge family and looks forward to new learning opportunities in Cambodia and at Northbridge.
