Diego Mahecha

Staff Profile - Diego Mahecha

Science MYP and Physics DP Teacher, Head of Science

Diego is a proud Colombian physicist with 15 years of teaching experience and passionate about education. He moved in 2016 to Cambodia with his wife and has met in the country wonderful people and lived enriching experiences.

  • BSc Physics, University of Los Andes, Colombia
  • MSc, Multidisciplinary Studies for International Educators, State University of New York

After working in three different international schools in Colombia for over 12 years, Diego and his wife (who also teaches at Northbridge) decided to move to Cambodia in search of excellence and experience in a new and exciting setting.

He found at Northbridge a place where not only students are constantly challenged by the curriculum but also teachers are in a constant process of reflection about their practices to become better educators and grow professionally.

His main goal has always been to help his students develop the scientific skills they will need for life and encourage them to pursue their dreams while caring about others and the world. His classroom will continue to be an open space where everyone is welcome and he will always be willing to help and collaborate.
