The Chinese department organised our annual Chinese New Year celebration, a big thank you to Ivy Ji and her team for hosting the event this morning. Lead by Arista Liu, we enjoyed performances, music and singing from the students, a wonderful traditional dance by a group of our parents, and a Lion Dance as well. Thank you to the LFA for sponsoring the Lion Dance, and for supporting our parent dancers. Do look out for pictures and video on Seesaw, the school website and official WeChat account.
This week myself and Mr. Pass visited our school in Puxi, Shanghai, for an Advanced Safeguarding course. I often tell parents and visitors that our first priority is the safety and happiness of our children and young people, as academic success can only happen after that is established. Nord Anglia Education too shares our recognition of the importance of safeguarding children, and brought representatives from all of our schools in China together for this course, to update our knowledge and to share best practice. Mr. Pass who, as well as his role of Head of Secondary, is our Designated Safeguarding Lead, and has the responsibility of ensuring our systems and processes are effective to support all of our students. Alongside Mr. McCarthy, who is tasked with the health and safety of our students on campus, their role is vital to ensure we have the right environment for allowing students to be successful. Our commitment to reflection, review and improvement means we are always looking at what we can do next.
Please check the Summer Performing Arts with Juilliard.
Have a great weekend!
