Hi Lili, can you tell us a bit more about yourself?
I am a year 11 student at Léman International School and this is my second year at the school. I am originally from England but I have also lived in Brunei and the USA before moving to China. Outside of school, I love to take photos and travel around the world, as it allows me to create new experiences and learn about new cultures.
Tell us about your interest in photography.
I was interested in this role because I have always enjoyed photography. I received a digital camera when I was 8 years old and since then I have loved capturing my experiences through a lens. The world is such a beautiful place and such a truly amazing subject to capture. I especially enjoy photographing my travels as it allows me to capture my memories and keep them for the future.
How were you appointed as a Global Campus Photographer?
I found out about this opportunity from my teacher. I applied through Global Campus and sent some examples of my photography. I chose some of my best photos as I wanted to show them what I was capable of. A couple of weeks later I received an email from the Editor, who is based in our Nord Anglia school in Chicago, inviting me for an online interview. To prepare for this I thought of some questions they might ask me and wrote some example answers, this allowed me to feel completely ready. The interview went well and a few weeks later I received an email offering me the position.
What are you looking forward to in this role?
I am looking forward to collaborating with other Nord Anglia students from around the world, which will allow me to continue to improve my communication skills. I believe this is a great opportunity for me to share my photography with others and continue to improve my skills. Here are some examples of my work of Chengdu animals and World Children's Day, last week.
