Implementation of STEAM projects/challenges in JKB
This year, Léman International School, in collaboration with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), has started to implement the STEAM educational approach that aims to combine a variety of disciplines while working in projects or so called “challenges”. STEAM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Mathematics. In JK, we believe that an early implementation of this approach will aid our students to develop problem-solving skills, creativity and team-work skills.
At the beginning of the school year, our classroom was divided into 3 teams Hippo, Lion and Panther. Every Wednesday, the students work together in their teams to solve a variety of challenges or to work on projects. These are some of the challenges they have solved this year:
