Athletics and Activities News

It’s an exciting time for Léman sports as we begin our third season. Soccer for the U19s and Basketball for the U15s have had some great training sessions and are looking forward to their first matches next Tuesday. We have had great turnouts for these teams and are excited for a great season. Thanks to coaches Mr. Paul, Ms. Felicia, Mr. Kent and Ms. Tiffany for their dedication and commitment.

We are also continuing to run our swimming programs four days a week and have a lot of enthusiastic swimmers doing great work for Mr. Ben, Ms. Allie and Mr. Kuan. We will not be sending swimmers to the ACAMIS competition this year, but are working in collaboration with other local international schools to create a stronger culture around swimming here in Chengdu. With this in mind, we are setting up a swimming workshop and mini-meet to be held here at Léman on Saturday, March 23rd. The CISA Swimming meet, also to be held here at Léman, has been moved this year to April 26th, so we have lots of training time still to go for swimming.

We’d also like to acknowledge the amazing things that are happening with our clubs program as well. We have a huge and enthusiastic group for SK-G2 soccer, ball hockey, golf, gymnastics, ballet, k-pop dance and Frisbee golf. We are always so grateful to our amazing staff for offering such exciting sports options for our enthusiastic students.
