Last weekend, our U19 Volleyball teams traveled to Tianjin for their end-of-season ACAMIS tournament. 16 teams from all across China came together for three days of camaraderie and competition.

Our teams have come a long way during the season. Ms. Shill and Mr. McCabe have worked diligently with their respective groups to improve communication, collaboration and strategy. This was evident throughout the tournament. Internal leadership helped both teams through some difficult moments in pool play. Player-led meetings brought us to the playoff day with high expectations.

Those expectations would be well founded. Both of our teams battled through tough elimination matches to reach the Final. The girls came up against a very strong team and captured a well-earned second-place finish. Our boys team put together their best performance of the tournament at the perfect time and brought home their second consecutive ACAMIS Championship.

Ms. Shill and Mr. McCabe would like to thank all their players for their commitment and hard work over the course of the season. We had a lot of fun and really came together when it counted. As we move forward into basketball season for the U19s, this determination will serve them well.

This weekend, we have sent a team of U11 Boys Football players to Nanjing for the Nord Anglia Global Games China tournament. Mr. McCarthy and Ms. Dracz will lead the team against our sister schools from all across China. We have a young group and it will be a learning experience for them, but the team is really excited and we are excited for them. It is an early step in developing our offerings for our younger students.
