Languages Taught

Learning a foreign language provides a perfect opportunity to open up and learn about other cultures. A high-quality languages education fosters pupils’ curiosity and deepens their understanding of the world.

As an international school, we view the learning of language as particularly relevant in the modern world and therefore modern foreign languages is a key part of our curriculum. We are at the heart of Uzbekistan, a rapidly transforming area with a growing influence on Eastern Europe and the world at large. We recognise that an understanding of Uzbek culture and a command of the Russian Language will be invaluable assets for the future.

Russian lessons are complemented by a rich programme of activities, educational trips and whole school events that take place throughout the school year. We also offer Uzbek culture and language classes for local children from Year 3 onwards as part of our co-curriculum requirements

Students in Upper Key Stage 2 and Key Stage 3 are introduced to French language. The option to study the language at iGCSE is available.
