As school life returns to normal, the Performing Arts department have been swinging back in to action to see out the month with two exciting Live Lunch performances.

This time, however, there was a twist in that one of our Year 13 Elective groups were tasked with 'running an event in an educational setting' aimed at equipping them with skills such as teamwork, communication, formal writing, delegation, working with young people and event management. They successfully advertised the event, auditioned the students and set up the performance space, as well as accompanying at times and looking after our Primary students in what can sometimes be a daunting experience.

Wednesday saw a successful Secondary Live Lunch, with a full range of groups, including a band, solo piano, solo voices and a guitar and vocal duet. It was a wonderful experience to see the foyer filling up with beaming faces as students supported their classmates in the first musical performance at the school in over one hundred days.

This set a precedent that was matched by the dedication and enthusiasm of the Primary student who performed their own Live Lunch this Friday. With our new extended lunchtime, we were able to hear eleven different performances, ranging for piano, to voice, 'cello, and violin. Thank you to all the performers, the support from class teachers and tutors, and to the parents who encouraged their children to take part in these events. We will be back with more Live Lunch performances next year!
