Mr Mark Sayer Weekly Update 13th November: CIS Pre-Accreditation Visit

13 November 2015

It is now only a few weeks before the Council of International Schools pay us a second visit.

  • BVIS Principal update 20151113

In early December, Dr Graham Ranger, Director of School Support & Evaluation, and Dr Eric Jabal, Principal of ISF Academy in Hong Kong, both representing CIS, will be here.  Inderjit Dehal, the Director of Professional Development for Nord Anglia Education, will also be in attendance throughout the visit.

This visit is known as the Pre-Accreditation visit and will inform us of our readiness to undergo the in-depth self-study that forms the core work of the Accreditation process.  As I previously informed parents, this process takes between 18 and 20 months and is a very significant piece of work.  Open and honest appraisal of current practices has taken place whilst looking at success, areas for development and challenges in the time we have been open.  There is time set aside for meetings with staff, students and parents to get a holistic view of the operations of the school against a raft of declared standards.  In effect, they will be looking very closely at what we declare that we are doing.  It is a kite-mark of authenticity giving further confidence to parents and students.

We look forward to the process and to see our ‘critical friends’ again as we strive to better the educational provision here.
