Mrs Sarah Wild Weekly Update 28th August

28 August 2015

We have very much enjoyed having our students at school back and also welcoming all our new students this week!

  • BVIS Secondary Weekly update 20150828
  • Year 11 Fast-track group IGCSE

On Wednesday, students spent the day with their tutors getting to know new each other and reflecting about the year ahead. We want everyone to really enjoy this year, but we also want to make sure all students are really focused on their academic work.  In Year 11, we are very excited to welcome the fast-track group, who will take a number of IGCSEs in one year.  Given we are growing as a school, new members of staff have joined us in a variety of subjects. No time has been lost.

Next week, Ms Pogson (Music) and Ms Hutchinson (Drama) start auditions for this year’s production and Mr Wild and Ms Smith (both PE) have already organised sports fixtures with other schools. We know how much your children value extra-curricular activities in the school and we look forward to seeing them getting involved.  We have been back for less than a week but students already seem extremely settled and focused in lessons. I am very much looking forward to this new academic year and to meeting parents during the Parent Information Evenings in the coming weeks.

Dates of parent information evenings:

  • Year 7 and 8: 17:00-19:00 on 7th September
  • Year 9: 17:00-18:00 on 10th September
  • Year 10: 18:00-19:00 in 10th September
  • Year 11: 17:00-18:00 on 16th September
