Secondary Girls’ House Football

Last week, the girls took part in their own house football competition. Hue were strong throughout the tournament and ended up winning every game. Well done, Hue!

The competition was open to girls from all age groups and it was great to see that we had almost 30 who wanted to play. Football for females is growing across the world, including Vietnam. Last year more people than ever, from all over the world, tuned in and supported the women’s World Cup in Canada. I was proud to see England’s women beat Germany in the 3rd Place play off and get a bronze medal. Vietnam, although not in the World Cup last year, do have a National Women’s Football team. The World Cup gave many young girls all over the world the inspiration to play and I hope our students at BVIS continue to play football even though our school competition is over for the time being.
