Mrs Sarah Wild Weekly Update 8/4/2016

08 April 2016

This has been a very exciting and productive term. Students’ reports indicate the great progress they have made.

  • BVIS Hanoi International Secondary School 20160408
  • BVIS Y10 duke of edinburgh 20160122 (8)
  • Language Week BVIS 2016 (4)
  • BVIS Dorothy in Wonderland (6)

There have been many exciting events that have taken place. Universities from different parts of the world have been to speak to Year 11 during the course of the term. There have been trips, with Year 10 completing their DOE Bronze assessment in January and Year 9 going on their residential to Sapa last week. Several memorable assemblies took place including the Holocaust Memorial Day Assembly and the student led Tet Assembly.

There have been many house competitions. Some have really shown our students ability to be academically bilingual, such as the Public speaking and the ‘Translanguaging’ competition, two very memorable events. Students also showed off their language skills when they set up a French café a few weeks ago! The ‘Celebrate Language Week’ was also an opportunity to really focus on the linguistic achievements of our students. Football and basketball house competitions also took place at lunchtimes throughout the term.

This term, we have also held our own against other schools when we attending the Maths Olympiad and during the football tournaments.

We finished the term with our Secondary musical ‘Dorothy in Wonderland’ and what a great end to the term.

All of these events are on our Hub and many are on BVIS Facebook too, if you have missed any of the past events.

We wish you and your children a lovely break and looking forward to an exciting third term!
