So far this term we have had a good number of visitors to the school, as any good school should. Those sharing their expertise, offering insights and new avenues of enquiry, observing what we are teaching and how the students engage in their learning.
Overwhelmingly, the responses have been positive. Both heads of section are conducting their cycle of monitoring to make sure that the ‘teams’ are well aligned and focused on the key tasks of student outcomes, care and engagement – in and outside of the classroom.
The children are loving their new surroundings, designed and arranged to suit their own needs. The corridors are calm and orderly, the classrooms purposeful, secure, safe places for intellectual exploration. The Dining Hall is producing nutritious food that is satisfying both appetite and taste buds. The Sports Hall above my Primary Office has the continual rumble of students actively engaged in fitness and skills routines. Parents have enjoyed wandering around the well-appointed classrooms that are now filled with vibrant student work.
Extra-curricular activities are adding a whole new dimension this term to student experience and with Global Campus this will have a very rewarding time, stretching interests, discovering new avenues of enquiry.
As we know, the Primary Section is just one section of the three but the way things have developed here this term is noteworthy. I am very grateful to the staff for this attention to creating such a vibrant space that the children are really pleased now to occupy.
