Nord Anglia’s Middle Leaders’ Programme
Nord Anglia’s Middle Leaders’ Programme In January 2017, I was so lucky to join Nord Anglia’s Middle Leaders’ Programme. The first of two residential aspects was held in Cambodia with other teachers from different Nord Anglia schools. All the teachers were incredibly professional, creative, enthusiastic and happy to learn from each other. I’m sure that we all were inspired by the great course leader John Nicholls.

In January 2017, I was so lucky to join Nord Anglia’s Middle Leaders’ Programme. The first of two residential aspects was held in Cambodia with other teachers from different Nord Anglia schools. All the teachers were incredibly professional, creative, enthusiastic and happy to learn from each other. I’m sure that we all were inspired by the great course leader John Nicholls.

This 3 – day residential training was definitely impressive and useful. Since the course started we were busily involved in a range of activities. There were so many interesting topics introduced, discussed and aimed at increasing leadership and management skills. One of the best parts was reflection time when we took notes to see what we are currently doing in school, or what we may change. Each day, we learnt new things and challenged ourselves. I totally came out of my comfort zone to become a better and better teacher, improving all the time the outcomes for children. All participants not only team-worked and shared experience but also raised questions and helped each other. It was great to have Mr. Dale and Mr. McKie from Secondary joining this programme as they have helped me so much.

We now have to complete monthly tasks via the Nord Anglia University portal where all Nord Anglia staff can find useful information and learn, but the major piece of work of this whole programme is a 5000-word Professional Enquiry research. I have chosen to look at Guided Reading and how to help BVIS develop Guided Reading in Primary.

Our 3 days in Cambodia were a fantastic experience and the course has opened my eyes to the best possibilities to raise our students' achievement. I would highly recommend the course to any colleague in BVIS Hanoi.
