A program that connects learning with real life
At Eton School, we believe students make better decisions when they understand the professional world from the inside. Our Internships Program offers this opportunity. Each year, 12th-grade students spend a week in companies and institutions related to their interests, allowing them to explore careers, observe teams in action, and experience what day-to-day life looks like in the fields they are passionate about.
Internships are part of our commitment to hands-on learning that prepares students for the next steps in their academic and professional journeys.
An experience that shapes their future
The experiences of Isaac and Luciana reflect this impact. Both have a strong interest in architecture, so they completed their internship at JLL, one of the world’s leading real estate firms. During the week, they worked alongside professional teams, observed real projects, and learned what it truly means to pursue this career.
They shared that the experience opened their eyes to workplace dynamics, industry challenges, and the skills they need to develop. It also confirmed their desire to become architects. For them, this opportunity marked an important step toward their future.
A bridge between Eton School and the professional world
The Internships Program also builds strong connections between Eton School and leading companies that value the curiosity, attitude, and principles our students embody.
Arturo Bañuelos, Executive Director of Project & Development Services at JLL, expressed this clearly. For him, welcoming Eton students creates a mutually beneficial experience: students gain firsthand insights into their areas of interest, while the company contributes to the formation of the next generation of professionals. In addition, our students serve as ambassadors of the values we nurture at school.
Why is this program so valuable for families?
Families seek opportunities that help their children make informed decisions before entering university. Our program provides exactly that. Students don’t just observe; they ask questions, reflect, and contribute to real tasks that allow them to better understand their options.
This gives them clarity about their future and supports their emotional well-being by reducing the uncertainty that often accompanies the choice of a career. They also develop practical skills such as communication, organization, teamwork, and critical thinking.
Preparation that continues beyond the internship
When students return to school, they reflect on what they learned and connect it with their coursework, personal goals, and the university admissions process. Our academic and college counseling teams guide them in translating their experience into concrete next steps for their professional journey.
