Simon has gone from strength to strength since he began his studies at Léman. Although considered to be a quieter member of his class, he is not to be underestimated in his abilities and skills.
Simon’s confidence of himself as a leader grew also in this period culminating in him taking on many positions of responsibility during the IB Diploma years of his time with us. An example of this was when he acted as the co-chair for the Nord Anglia MUN Conference which was held at the school in the last academic year. It was no surprise that his leadership was praised by many of the participating schools from across China. Not only that but he always wanted to take on new challenges and has been involved with cross-country, the Badminton Club and even made a dance video!
Perhaps some of the achievements for which he will be best remembered for was when he set up clubs in topics that he is passionate about. These have been highly successful and would not have been as successful without Simon’s skills and knowledge. We are grateful to his participation in both the Scratch and Coding Clubs.
Earlier on in the year, Simon completely surprised us when he announced that he had been given an unconditional offer from Durham University in England. Most teachers have never experienced hearing unconditional offers being made by one of the most famous universities in the world. This is testament to Simon’s talents. Indeed, he has applied to many universities across the globe receiving offers from the majority of them. In spite of those fantastic achievements, Simon now chooses to study closer to home. He has opted to study at the perhaps the most famous and well-respected Tsinghua University.
Simon is avery talented young man from whom we are sure to hear great things from in the future.
