WSDA (WeSchool Speech & Debate Association) is a globally recognized academic platform dedicated to speech and debate education for primary, middle, and high school students. As the official cooperative and registration partner of NSDA (National Speech & Debate Association) in the Chinese Mainland, it bridges Chinese students with international competitive opportunities while fostering core competencies essential for academic and personal growth.

The association offers a diverse range of competitive formats tailored to different age groups and skill levels. For primary and junior middle school students, WSDA Junior features events like Extemporaneous Speech and Impromptu Debate, designed to build confidence and basic communication skills. High school students can participate in classic events such as Public Forum Debate (a team-based debate format focusing on current global issues), Original Oratory (persuasive speeches on self-selected topics), and Impromptu Debate, which challenges quick thinking and logical reasoning.

WSDA’s competition system operates at multiple levels: school-level competitions, regional tournaments across China, national championships, and overseas exchange events. In the United States, its local leagues consist of winter and spring regional rounds, with top performers qualifying for the national finals. These competitions attract participants worldwide, creating a multicultural platform for students to exchange ideas and sharpen their skills.

A key highlight of WSDA is its strong recognition by prestigious universities globally, including Harvard, Yale, and other Ivy League institutions. Achievements in WSDA tournaments serve as valuable credentials for college applications, demonstrating students’ critical thinking, public speaking, research abilities, and cross-cultural communication skills. Beyond academic benefits, WSDA also provides comprehensive support such as professional training resources, judge feedback, and a community of passionate educators and peers, making it a leading choice for students seeking to excel in speech and debate.
