Nord Anglia Education are delighted to welcome Professor Deborah Eyre as Director of Education

We are extremely pleased to announce the appointment of Professor Deborah Eyre to the role of Director of Education. Professor Eyre’s appointment is an exciting and valuable development in the pursuit of our vision to be the global leader in Education and Learning.

Professor Eyre’s extensive career spans working in schools, Local Authorities and Universities and she is perhaps best known for her work on high performance learning, where she is internationally recognised as one of world’s leading experts.

From 1999 to 2002, Professor Eyre was Deputy Dean of the newly merged Westminster Institute of Education, leading their work at postgraduate level, research and enterprise. In 2002, she was appointed to create and develop the UK government’s flagship National Academy for Gifted and Talented Youth (NAGTY) and was responsible for setting national policy for gifted education in English schools. NAGTY was a public/private organisation located at the University of Warwick and reporting directly to government Ministers.

In 2008, Professor Eyre set up her own consultancy business focusing on education policy and system design for high performance learning and managed an extensive client list in the UK, South East Asia, the Middle East and South Africa.

Professor Eyre is a Visiting Senior Research Fellow at Oxford University and holds academic positions at the Universities of Warwick, Wits (Johannesburg) and the Hong Kong Institute of Education. Deborah also sits on the Boards of a number of education organisations in the UK and globally. Professor Eyre has recently completed terms on the Board of the UK Training and Development Agency (TDA) and on the Governing Council of National College for School Leadership (NCSL). She is also an ambassador for the Number 10 Equality Unit helping women gain senior roles at Board level in public bodies.
