The class of 2014 have achieved outstanding International Baccalaureate Diploma results, significantly outperforming global averages and recording our schools' best performance yet.
Our pass rate continues to grow, with 92% of students passing the IB Diploma across our family of schools. On average, our students achieved a score of 33.7 points out of the maximum 45, almost 4 points (a substantial 13%) higher than the global average of 29.8.
We are proud to announce that three Nord Anglia Education students achieved the maximum score of 45 – an exceptional feat only achieved by 146 students worldwide this year.
Additionally, one in seven of our students attained 40 points or higher – which places them amongst the top 7% of students worldwide who sat the IB Diploma this year and is a standard comparable to 4 A*s at A-Level.
Nord Anglia Education schools are proud to be academically non-selective as well as having an impressive track record which has seen both the pass rate and average score increase year-on-year.
"We are really proud of our students,” said Professor Deborah Eyre, Nord Anglia Education’s Education Director. "Their excellent results are evidence that our educational philosophy enables all our students to achieve academic, personal and social success. High Performance Learning supports our teachers to focus on each individual student to help them improve their personal bests, and also develops the intellectual confidence and global mindedness crucial for success in the IB Diploma. We congratulate all our graduates and their teachers on their fantastic results.”
The globally respected International Baccalaureate Diploma is studied by students age 16 - 19 and is known for its academic rigour combined with a broad educational experience which develops the whole student. As well as achieving outstanding results across six subjects (in comparison to the 3 or 4 normally studied at A-Level), our students also had to complete an extended research paper, a Theory of Knowledge course and spend 150 hours a year engaged in creative, action and service projects - from climbing mountains and running sports tournaments, to charity fundraising and working with children and families living in poverty.
Many of our IB Diploma graduates are continuing on to the university of their choice following their fantastic results - we wish them the very best with their future endeavours!
