Our collaboration with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) sees students from our schools worldwide visit the university each year for an unforgettable week of learning and discovery.
At Nord Anglia, we’re creating these once-in-a-lifetime learning experiences where we’re sparking students’ creativity and curiosity, while inspiring the next generation of innovators!
From 2 to 7 November, 67 students from 55 Nord Anglia schools made their way to Cambridge, Massachusetts to work alongside the world’s leading STEAM innovators through workshops, challenges, and hands-on activities.
To make it to MIT, each student completed a STEAM-related project where they were asked to think carefully about a problem or issue that they’re passionate about and then create a plan of action to help solve it.

After arriving at MIT’s Cambridge campus, students joined a variety of workshops led by MIT experts and current students. From “Origami Engineering” to “Catching Physics in the Act” and more, these sessions brought STEAM learning—Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics—into real-world contexts.
Miley, one of our students from Nord Anglia International School Hong Kong, said: “This is my first time in the US, and something that has made the trip so memorable is getting to tour the beautiful MIT Museum and campus and getting to experience a live lecture about ‘Ancient Earth’. The lecture in particular allowed me to expand my horizons and have a deeper fascination with the potential for human greatness.”
Our students also explored cutting-edge research facilities on MIT’s campus, including the Plasma Science and Fusion Center and the BioMaker Space, gaining insight into cutting-edge scientific work.

One of the biggest moments was the Climate Action Summit, where our students looked into some of the ways science and activism intersect. They left inspired by how the university is working to address this global issue.
Yasmine, a student at Amman Academy, said “I really enjoyed the opportunity to talk to current MIT students, learning about their experiences, and being inspired by what they hope to accomplish in the future.”
They collaborated on experiments designed for zero-gravity environments, which was an exciting challenge that pushed their creativity and teamwork skills.

The week concluded with a Project Exposition, where students presented projects exploring their own STEAM-related ideas, and their creativity and problem-solving skills were on full display. We’re excited to reveal that the winning project from this exposition will even be tested on a zero-gravity flight in 2026!

Our collaboration with MIT stretches far beyond this annual event. It brings world-class expertise and innovation into Nord Anglia classrooms year-round, benefiting every child. Here’s how:
