Nord Anglia Education (NAE), China’s longest-standing international education provider, today announced its expansion into the city of Dalian in the north east of China.
NAE is proud to welcome the Dalian Huamei Bilingual School (DHBS) to its growing family of China Bilingual schools. As part of its educational offer, an international stream is provided through the Dalian American International School (DAIS).
More than 700 day and boarding students from over 30 countries are taught both bilingual and international curricula at the school. These students now join NAE’s global student family of 67,000 classmates in 29 countries around the world.
Following today’s announcement, Nord Anglia’s global family of schools comprises 69 schools, with 17 located in China. NAE’s bilingual offering is based on the Chinese National Curriculum, blended with globally respected international teaching pedagogy and education resources.
Andrew Fitzmaurice, chief executive office of Nord Anglia Education, said:
“Our China Bilingual region continues to grow to meet the strong demand for our schools offering the Chinese National Curriculum blended with globally-respected international teaching and learning. DHBS and DAIS are an excellent fit with our organisation as we share the same education philosophy. Together, we are ambitious for our students, ensuring they have the education, skills and mindset needed to be global citizens and future leaders.”
Lisa Liang, CEO of DHBS and DAIS, said the move is an exciting new chapter:
“Being part of the Nord Anglia family means a significantly enhanced offering for our students. Together with Nord Anglia, we will continue to build on our educational experience by connecting our students and staff to a truly global community and world-leading partnerships. This is truly an exciting new chapter for our students, colleagues and school community.”
Teachers and staff at the schools will also benefit from being part of a larger professional community with numerous development opportunities. This includes access to Nord Anglia University, a vibrant professional development programme connecting NAE colleagues together through cutting-edge courses, as well as access to a Master’s Degree in International Education at King’s College London, developed exclusively for NAE teachers and staff.
