World Mental Health Week 2020 This week signifies World Mental Health Week 2020. This week signifies World Mental Health Week 2020.

Monday, 18th May signifies the beginning of Mental Health Awareness Week 2020, the focus of which is the power and potential of kindness.

The theme of Kindness has been chosen because of its singular ability to unlock our shared humanity. Kindness strengthens relationships, develops community and deepens solidarity and  is a cornerstone of our individual and collective mental health. It involves doing something towards yourself and others, motivated by genuine desire to make a positive difference.  It can be an antidote to isolation and creates a sense of belonging, also helping to reduce stress, bringing about a fresh perspective and the potential to deepen friendships.

We have seen Kindness in the dancing eyes of 100-year-old Captain Tom Moore as he walked his garden to raise money for the NHS, and in the mutual aid groups responding to local needs here in the UAE. During these times, kindness has the power to impact people in such a positive way.

“If you can be anything in he world, be kind.”
