International Day 2021 – ‘Our Changing World’ On Thursday, 4th February, students had an amazing Virtual International Day. We had a wonderful day celebrating the diversity of our school community and its large number of different nationalities.  On Thursday, 4th February, students had an amazing Virtual International Day. We had a wonderful day celebrating the diversity of our school community and its large number of different nationalities.

Students, parents and teachers wore the colours of their national flag or their country’s traditional dress. See our BIS Abu Dhabi Virtual Parade:

 

Throughout the day, students took part in a range of activities with a UN Global Goals focus. They learned all about the importance of the Global Goals and took part in lessons such as learning different languages (including sign language), identifying famous landmarks from across the world, wellbeing activities from different countries and many student quizzes.  Even PE, music and language lessons took on an international theme!

There were many opportunities for families to be involved during the day with our International themed ‘Ways to Wellbeing’ activities. We received videos showing family traditional dances, cooking lessons and information about countries and cultures from across the world. Please keep these videos coming.

The fun culminated in our International Day Family Quiz, where more than 100 families competed to become the BIS Abu Dhabi Champions. Well done to our winning team, ‘Aussie Mum’ and our runners up, ‘Oz, Pom n Mick’ and Tom Carter ('TC'). Could these winners identify themselves to the quiz team on: (admissions@bisad.ae) to collect your prizes.
