The Library at BIS Abu Dhabi is held across two physical and digital locations; Primary and Secondary. Both Libraries offer extensive resources for our community, and are designed to engage students, parents and staff in reading for enjoyment. The Libraries also offer a variety of programs throughout the school year, including research services to our school community, aiding students’ reading and comprehension, and supporting the IB program extensively.
Primary Library
The Primary Library serves students from Nursery through Year 6, and offers books in many languages, and for a wide range of reading and interest levels.
Throughout the school year, our Primary students visit the library every week to check out books, listen to stories, and learn valuable research skills. In our current learning environment, parents are encouraged to engage their children about their reading beyond what is assigned.
Primary Resources can be explored through the Primary Library Catalogue.
One such resource on the website is TumbleBooks, which offers a fantastic curated database of animated e-books, videos and audiobooks for the younger reader. Other reading and literacy resources include Epic Reading, Bug Club, and links to our local libraries and their online resources, such as the Abu Dhabi Children's Library.

Secondary Library
The Secondary Library serves teachers, staff, and all students from Year 7 and above. Secondary students use the library to study, research and work collaboratively with fellow students.
It boasts a professional library for educators, a growing foreign language library that includes books in Arabic, Chinese, French and Spanish, as well as concisely curated Fiction and Non-Fiction books.
Secondary resources can be explored through the Secondary Library Catalogue.
The catalogue displays books in our physical collection, as well as online, which includes over 300 high-interest eBooks that may be checked out or read online at any time. Other resources on the website include TeenBookCloud, for Years 7 and above, which is an extensive digital platform offering thousands of digital copies of classics like Shakespeare, as well as graphic novels, audiobooks, and some videos.
