I joined Nord Anglia Education in August 2012 following a teaching career since 1990. Prior to joining The British International School, Abu Dhabi, I was Principal at a fellow Nord Anglia school, The British International School Shanghai, Pudong. Before joining Nord Anglia I was Associate Head Teacher at Harrogate Grammar School, one of the leading schools in the UK, and previously Deputy Head Teacher at Jerudong International School in Brunei.
My experience lies in a wide range of schools and in raising academic standards for students of all ages and abilities. I take great pride in ensuring each school provides opportunities beyond the classroom such that all students can further develop values and skills beyond their academic pursuits. I’m a passionate believer that high expectations for students can lead to outstanding and inspirational outcomes.
I have a Bachelor’s of Education in Secondary Mathematics, a postgraduate Certificate in Educational Management and the National Professional Qualification for Headteachers.
Lastly, I am a keen if limited sportsman, a career highlight being an international appearance representing Brunei at Australian Rules Football. I have coached students throughout my career, primarily in football and cricket. I find the students are almost always more talented than me but that never spoils my enjoyment.
