I began teaching in 1996 in Leamington Spa, Warwickshire as a teacher of PE. Within a few years I had become the schools Head of Dance and set up the Viva Dance Company, the largest school Dance Company in the region. In 2001 I became Head of the Performing Arts Department at Queensbridge School where I began collaborations with a whole host of Professional Dance companies including the Birmingham Royal Ballet. After establishing my own educational consultancy I went back into schools to lead another Performing Arts School in Birmingham and then spent two years as Head of Creative Arts at the brand new Ormiston Performing Arts School in Birmingham, the Midlands sister school to the Brit Academy in London.
Seeking new horizons my family and I moved to Abu Dhabi in 2012 and I joined the BIS PE Department the following year, returning to my sporting roots! Having spent my career entirely with Secondary students, teaching three year olds has been quite a challenge but one which I have thoroughly enjoyed and I am looking forward to being a part of the exciting sporting future in our school.
I like to talk. And bake cakes. I love travelling and meeting people. And talking to them. Often I bake them cakes. I have played Netball for three different Counties (Yorkshire, Bedfordshire and Warwickshire) and coached the Warwickshire Junior Teams and Warwick University. I was the captain of my University rugby team and had trials for England. I love to dance.
