I am a proud Welsh woman and lived there until the age of 18. I then moved to Gloucestershire to study BSc (Hons) Sports Education and graduated from the University of Gloucestershire with a First-Class degree in 2016. Following this, I made the decision to further my studies at Cardiff Metropolitan University and graduated the following year with a PGCE in Physical Education.
During my teaching career, I have worked in two secondary schools in Cardiff teaching Physical Education but in 2019, relocated to the Midlands where I became a Teacher of PE and Transition Lead at a well-respected Sports College. The role allowed me to build strong relationships with feeder primary schools to ensure students relished the opportunity of moving to secondary school.
BIS Abu Dhabi encourages children to be ambitious and this aligns perfectly with my philosophy of teaching. Ambition is what encouraged me to pursue my dream of teaching internationally and I feel privileged to be able to achieve this whilst contributing to the ever-growing success of the PE department at BIS Abu Dhabi.
I love being active, particularly hiking with my partner (in all weathers), running, going to the gym, and playing hockey and netball. I am a National Champion cheerleader and have also completed three half-marathons and a full marathon. Learning to scuba dive and completing a sky-dive are next on my list!
Alongside my passion for watching and playing sport, I love travelling to new countries, learning about their culture, and trying new food. I have been fortunate to volunteer in Malawi on a Sports Outreach programme and work as a Camp Counsellor in Atlanta, Georgia in previous years.
I enjoy spending time with my close family and friends, and they are all looking forward to visiting Abu Dhabi. I am really excited for a new adventure and to experience what the Middle East has to offer.
