Claire Sullivan

Year 2 Teacher

Mrs. Sullivan graduated from Queen’s University Belfast in 1998, completed her PGCE with the University of Sunderland, and has been at the school since 2014.

Born and raised in Northern Ireland, I graduated from Queen’s University Belfast in 1998 with a BSc in Psychology. During the 5 years I lived and worked in London, I completed a PG Certificate in Human Resources Consulting with London South Bank University, and following a successful 15 year career in Human Resource Management, decided that the time was right to pursue my dream of becoming a teacher and so completed my PGCE with the University of Sunderland.

I come from a family of teachers, and have always believed that being a part of a child’s educational journey and having the opportunity to nurture and encourage their learning and emotional development is a very special privilege. Witnessing a child achieve their goals and knowing that you have played some small part in that is a truly unique honour.

I have worked at BIS Abu Dhabi since moving to Abu Dhabi with my family in August 2014, and am amazed on a daily basis at the quality of personalised learning our children receive, the dedication and expertise of our team, and the fantastic opportunities afforded to each child attending our school, including my own daughter Alice who has flourished during her time at the school.

During my career I have lived and worked in Edinburgh, Dublin, and London which is where I met my husband, Matt, and our daughter Alice was born.  Moving to Abu Dhabi has been a wonderful experience for our family, giving us the opportunity to achieve a work-life balance which eluded us in London, travel to new and exciting places, and welcome visitors from home on a regular basis!
