After a long time working in accountancy, I decided to change my career and follow my passion for teaching. I graduated from Edge Hill University with a First Class BA Hons in Primary Education with QTS and a specialism in Maths and Music. I also became a Digital Leader for the Primary Education department at Edge Hill University where I helped students.
Following this, I taught KS2 children at a primary school in the UK and was able to benefit from numerous training and development opportunities. After falling in love with the UAE from numerous holidays, I decided to move to Abu Dhabi where I have been teaching in KS1. I chose to come to BIS Abu Dhabi because it is a friendly, caring and professional school with amazing opportunities for the children. I enjoy working with like-minded teachers where creativity, passion and dedication are demonstrated throughout the school.
I originally grew up in a farm in Liverpool, UK and my parents still live there. We have lots of animals on the farm and this is where I learned to drive a tractor. I used to help my dad in the fields by planting lots of crops to harvest. I love being outdoors and you may see me camping in the desert. I often go paddleboarding with my dog, Buddy. He loves being in the water and likes to see the different animals around the mangroves. I enjoy watching my favourite team (Liverpool FC) play football and I have a small obsession with Formula 1. I would love the opportunity to watch it in Abu Dhabi! I love cooking and baking and will often share my food with those around me. I enjoy helping people and look at innovative ways to raise money for charity. I raised over £7,000 when I climbed Mount Kilimanjaro and have held sales and events for various charities.
I am lucky enough to have my sister living in Abu Dhabi too – you may see us around Yas Island at Ferrari World or Warner Bros!
