I graduated with a first class BA Hons in Primary Education, and was awarded the Dean’s Prize for the highest achieving graduate at Leeds Beckett University in 2014. I have primarily taught in the UK, but also have a range of international teaching experiences in Australia, Thailand, Romania, Kenya and not forgetting Abu Dhabi!
At my previous school in England, I was a part of the Senior Leadership Team, Head of Mathematics, International Lead and Year 6 Class Teacher. I have successfully led foreign exchanges to France involving students presenting current affairs on an international stage.
After five years of teaching in the UK, I leapt at the opportunity to step into international teaching, embracing my next adventure in joining BIS Abu Dhabi. I am now part of our Primary Leadership Team and Head of Primary Science.
I was extremely attracted to the school because the Nord Anglia ethos resonates with my own beliefs that there is no limit to any child’s education, and we should consistently strive for well beyond the best. Additionally, BIS Abu Dhabi offer truly outstanding opportunities and experiences for all.
I am from Cumbria, England, an area renowned for stunning lakes and mountains. For my University years, I escaped the countryside for the city lifestyle in Leeds. After graduating, I moved to Plymouth, Devon where I thoroughly enjoyed the beaches and the moors! I love to be active. I am passionate about sport and the life-long attributes and benefits that come with it. Since joining BIS Abu Dhabi, I have become one of the Team Falcon Netball coaches, and I am captain of a local netball team in the Capital Netball League. I have a thirst for new experiences, both in my career and hobbies, resulting in my desire to travel and experience new cultures. I believe with hard work and a positive outlook, anything is possible.
