I have taught English Language and Literature in both Dubai and Abu Dhabi for five years. Prior to moving to the Middle East, I taught English in sunny Scotland (my home country) after having completed an MA in English Literature at the University of Glasgow and a PGDE at the University of Strathclyde.
I have assumed a number of roles alongside my position of English Teacher over the years: Assistant Head of Sixth Form, University Counsellor and Supervisor and Assessor for the Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award, all of which have been extremely rewarding in their own ways. Literature, however, has always been my first love and I enjoy sharing my passion for the subject with the students at BIS Abu Dhabi.
During the holidays I love to travel and explore new destinations and cultures. New Zealand remains a firm favourite for me and is the place where I first skydived. Since moving to the UAE I have completed level 1 of my solo skydiving licence – although jumping out of planes has taken a back seat since the arrival of my twin girls last year!
