For as long as I can remember I have always had a love for all things historic, and received my BA in History from Goldsmiths College, University of London in 2007. After completing my PGCE at the UCL Institute of Education, I worked at a school in North London for three years. During this time I had a great deal of success with a range of examination classes in History, Sociology and Religious Studies.
In 2015 I moved into Initial Teacher Education, leading the History School Direct course until 2018. In that time I also managed to publish a series of history textbooks and a well-received book on the teaching of Black history in British secondary schools. Writing about history has always been one of my main passions and over the years I have written for the British Library’s website as well as writing and reviewing work for BBC Bitesize.
In 2016 I completed my MA in History Education at the UCL Institute of Education and I have plans to begin a PhD in Education in the near future.
In my spare time I enjoy playing football, cycling and travelling the world visiting sites of historical interest.
