James Morgan

ICT, Geography and Maths Teacher

Mr. Morgan joined BIS Abu Dhabi in 2015 from a fellow Nord Anglia Education school, British School in Shanghai.

I was born and schooled in London, but moved to Ireland to attend University.  Having completed an undergraduate degree in History at Trinity College Dublin, I taught EAL in South Korea for two years at a private language school. This preceded three years as an EAL teacher in Japan where I taught English to both children and adults.

Having completed a PGCE at home in the UK, I assumed leadership responsibilities whilst working in London as Gifted and Talented Coordinator, History Coordinator and ICT Coordinator.  I have since taught at the British School in Shanghai for four years and enjoying continuing my career at a multicultural international school with a healthy diversity of students for whom inclusive strategies for learning are a necessity.

Having studied Medieval History in Ireland,  I love History.  I enjoys reading stories of European hubris and find accounts of Arab technological and mathematical advancement during our dark ages fascinating.  At home in London, I have played tennis for many years and since leaving London, my sporting prowess has been greatly missed by my tennis club and they’ve tumbled from the dizzy heights of the 13th division to the 14th.

I enjoy watching football and occasionally attempting to play football, which I do with great enthusiasm but little running. I am also an avid Arsenal fan and often attend games not to sing.
