I completed a BA (Hons) in Geography at the University of Leeds in 1995 and after a bit of gap “living geography,” completed a PGCE in Geography with ICT in my hometown of Plymouth in 2009.
After completing my teacher training, I worked in Plymouth at an outstanding academy school for three brilliant years. I became the Head of Geography and was all set to settle down until my husband was offered a job in Singapore. We moved in Singapore in 2012 where I began work at St. Josephs Institution International as an IGCSE & IB Geography teacher. In my time there I became the Head of Geography again, and then the Head of a massive Humanities team.
As a Geographer I was drawn to the amazing landscapes of the UAE and its focus on Sustainable development and chose to work at BIS Abu Dhabi as I believe the Global Campus gives students and teachers a forum to develop Global Competence.
I am a Scuba Diving Instructor and Sailor, I love to cook, and I am a passionate explorer of the World.
