I started my career as a laser engineer, working in both the medical and industrial fields. My next challenge was teaching English as a foreign language in Korea and Thailand. I decided that teaching was the career for me, but I needed to combine this with my love of physics. I returned to the UK to become a fully trained science teacher. I have since taught in schools in England and Qatar. I was attracted to the British International School Abu Dhabi as it is a school that the staff, students and parents are proud of.
My life revolves around my family and particularly my young daughter. I have always travelled a lot and continue to do so with my family. My daughter has already had many adventures and living in the UAE adds to her list. I am very keen on photography, which I enjoy for both its technical aspects and its creative challenges. Coming from Wales I am a very keen rugby fan, although you are much more likely to find me cheering than playing. I enjoy keeping fit by running and weight-training and I also play badminton.
