I come from an agricultural background and spent a number of years working in the construction industry. Eventually, I knew it was time to return to education and study science teaching. I wanted to combine my love of science with my desire to help people. I graduated from the University of Limerick in 2011 and have been teaching ever since. After a few years teaching in Ireland, my family and I were lucky enough to get the opportunity to come to the UAE in 2014 and we have thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience so far.
Throughout my teaching career I have taught in both the Irish and American Curricula. I have taught the full range of sciences to all levels and lectured physics in training colleges in Ireland to trades-people.
Having visited BIS Abu Dhabi, I was blown away with the atmosphere of the school. At that moment I knew that this was the school I wanted to work at and to have my children educated at.
We have two children; a girl and a boy, so they take up most of my spare time. Since we have been in the UAE, they have been able to see some amazing parts of the world.
I enjoy running and weight training. I also am a really big fan of music and I really enjoy playing music live. I enjoy involved in all the extra-curricular activities at BIS Abu Dhabi.
