NAISAK was very lucky to enjoy the visit of Nick Toczek last Sunday and Monday, ahead of No Pens Day Wednesday. Mr Burgess worked hard to make the visit happen and all the parties involved felt the two days went by far too fast! Many thanks, Mr Burgess! Nick is an English poet and children’s author. His unusual path to literature inspired our students: he studied for a degree in industrial metallurgy before publishing his poetry and getting more involved in the artistic field. In addition to presenting interactive and lively assemblies for our Primary and Secondary students, all our Primary students had the chance to meet with him for exciting ‘meet and greet’ sessions, and a select number of students across the two stages took part in writing workshops. As we aim to be ambitious for ourselves and our school community, we hope that Nick’s visit has triggered some deep interest in literature and fed the passion that we already see alive at school.
