What a fantastic first day of the school year, and first day of our new High School. It has been great to see how all the students and teachers have settled so quickly into the new school, and walking around this afternoon it was almost impossible to tell that it was all so new for everyone, and especially for all of our new students, Year 7, who are new to the High School, and over thirty new High School teachers and Learning Support Assistants. We welcome you to all to St Andrews’ High School.
It has been a very busy day, with students beginning the day by spending two hours with their Tutors, during which they received copies of their timetables and details of their logins and lockers, as well as discussing What makes a Great St Andrews Community.
Before break, we had our first High School Assembly of the new school year, gathering almost 800 students and over 100 teachers and Learning Support Assistants in the Atrium of the Red Building.
During the day, all of the students also took part in a “Treasure Hunt” around the new High School to make sure that they know where everything is. Now that they have all completed this, I can share this diagram, showing which subjects are on each floor.
