Mindful Friday returns from this week where children will be able to try some yoga at break time... Don’t miss the workshop on listening skills - something that can help your children well into the future.

Later this week we are expecting a large group of visitors from Kasetsart University. They are interested in finding out about the structure of the Foundation Stage curriculum and how parents are an integral part of school life.  As Mrs Meg and myself began to prepare for this visit, it was a good opportunity to reflect on how families work together with the school to provide the children with some amazing experiences.

With International Day just around the corner on 12 October, we look forward to seeing parents in school working with the children on a range of cultural activities over the next few weeks.

Mindful Friday

This Friday we will be having another of our Mindful Fridays - a very popular addition to last year’s school calendar. Organised by the House Team, and supported by Ms Jo (KS2 - Sports Hall) and Ms Jen (KS1 - Y6 Quad), the children will have the opportunity at relax their minds and bodies at morning break time to join in with some Yoga activities.  With three of our teachers enrolled in a Mindful Educator Study Course, we look forward to introducing more Mindfulness Activities into the curriculum later in the year and beyond.

Workshop Reminder

The Connection Between Listening Skills and Academic Success

Have you ever felt that your child just isn’t listening? You know they can hear you but they don’t follow instructions well? There are, of course, a number of factors that affect your child’s ability to pay attention, but unless we can improve their ability to listen it can have a significant impact on academic learning both now and in the future.

Luckily there are things you can do to boost listening skills but, as with many things, early intervention is key.

Ms Rachel Nahimas will be running a workshop for parents on Tuesday 2 October at 8.00 a.m. in the Drama Studio.

The workshop “Encouraging our Children to Listen”  sets out to explore how we are able to help our children to actively listen to us more. The target audience is parents from FS3 (Reception), Year 1 and Year 2.
