Primary Sport is back with a bang! Swimming, football, BISAC basketball, TISAC Basketball and X Country all in an action-packed week of sport at St Andrews International School Bangkok.

There is a really exciting week of sport coming up with so many children getting the chance to represent STA. There will be over 200 different children competing for STA over the coming weeks and many competing for the very first time.  This week we have U9 football @ Harrow, Primary football @ Shrewsbury, U11 Boys TISAC Basketball vs St Andrews 107 @ STA, Blaze Basketball @ Shrewsbury, BISAC X Country and the Tiger Prawn Swim Meet.

We have been invited to Shrewsbury on 28 September for our Blaze Basketball teams to play, plus our U11 Boys Flames team will be playing in their first TISAC fixture on Thursday.

Just in these three fixtures alone there be close to 100 different children representing STA and if you combine the Flames girls and boys basketball last week and then the BISAC X Country, Primary football @ Shrewsbury and the Tiger Prawn Swim Meet there will be over 200 different  children who have represented STA in the first 4 to 5 weeks of term.

Football

Our U9 children got the chance to play in multiple games against Harrow and Shrewsbury today. All of our U9 footballers, around 50 children, got to have a really positive experience playing some highly competitive games. We had close to 20 children who represented STA for the time and were a credit to the school. More positive news was the number of girls playing and enjoying sport.

Basketball

Our U11 basketball teams were in action last week in other BISAC games.  It was a basketball double header with the girls playing first. It was the girls’ first game of the season and they were very dominant winning convincingly. For the boys it was a chance for our new U11 Blaze team to play their first game together. It was an exciting game which finished in a draw.  In the last 2 weeks we have had over 30 different children represent STA in basketball with some children playing their very first games for STA. We hope to continue to give opportunities for our children to represent STA across the squads.

Saturday Sport

We now have basketball, football, dance, gymnastics and yoga all at the Primary School that makes an impressive variety of opportunities for our STA children to come and enjoy sport on a Saturday with their friends. There were over 50 children at basketball and over 70 children for our new football clubs. If you would like your child/children to come and be active on a Saturday morning please contact Mr Damon (damon.se@standrews.ac.th).
