High School Sport: Friday Night fun BISAC Season 2 is underway and we hosted our first Friday Night Games of the 2019/2020 academic year.

BISAC Season 2 is underway and we hosted our first Friday Night Games of the 2019/2020 academic year.

Last week BISAC season 2 got into full swing with a number of Basketball, Badminton, Football, Touch & Tennis fixtures taking place. Well done to all those working hard and performing well for STA Flames over the week. It’s been great to see you all compete! You can check out all of our week’s BISAC Fixtures & Results here.

St Andrews International School Bangkok also had our first Friday Night Game of the year, a great community event, hosting Football and Basketball tournaments for 12 different teams! It was excellent to see lots of players in action and there were a number of standout performances. It was also a pleasure to be joined by our Tanzania team who are raising money for their upcoming trip to support local communities in the Arusha region, well done all!

Aikido

STA students in Mr Graham Terry’s after school Aikido programme achieved their 9th kyu gradings. This means that they can now  proudly wear their orange and green belts as a testament to their progress. We hope to see more students involved in this elegant, but powerful martial arts next term.

Wheelchair Basketball

St Andrews students took the opportunity to attend an International Wheelchair Basketball tournament in Pattaya this week. This event coincided with the United Nations International Day of Persons with Disabilities and was a qualifier for the Tokyo 2020 Paralympics. It was a great experience for IGCSE PE students to see high-level disability sport in action and for primary students with physical disabilities to meet some international role models. Our students had the opportunity to meet the Australian team, meet athletes and coaches and Chris and Lucas even got to try out the specialised basketball wheelchairs!

December Holiday Camps

This December St Andrews International School Bangkok has a range of opportunities on offer for all of our community. From Basketball & Mini Tennis camps to help players develop existing skills and learn to love the game to Performance camps designed to give the complete athlete experience and help players take performance to the next level.

These camps are run by our Flames coaches with sign up available via Moodle, if you require any more information please contact Mr Adam or Mr Damon.

Keeping up to date

As our fixtures move very quickly and we’re now beginning season 2, we keep our community with our BISAC Fixtures & Results here.

We also use our STA HS fixtures calendar to keep our community updated, this includes other fixtures, friendlies and events. As we work with so many schools we often have changes to these fixtures, so please add this calendar or refer to Moodle for the most up to date information.

Keep in touch

Please stay up-to-date by joining our STA Flames & Marlins Facebook group for parents and students who are part of our Sport Programme. Parents may post to this group and it’s been great to see some of your photos of our kids in action!
