A celebration of Primary’s last week of VSE before opening this week.

Welcome back to school! I’m sure all your children are very excited to be coming back to see their friends and teachers. Thank you all for filling in the Health and Travel Declaration Form. At Primary, 100% of the families have now filled it in, which means the school can now follow up with families if necessary.

An outstanding final week of work in the VSE

Although the students will have continued to learn online and learned new skills like resilience and independence, social interactions, as part of their education, are very important and help them understand how to work and communicate with others. This is why the news of the opening next week is so welcome.

This week, the students continued to amaze with their outstanding efforts in VSE. Below are some examples of wonderful pieces of work created by students in different year groups.

Foundation Stage - Inspired by global campus

FS2 has been planting beans linked to our story of the week "Jack and the Beanstalk'.

“I was so impressed by the independence of the children, they were given the chance to do activities by themselves, and most importantly explore and not necessarily do it in the adult view of 'right' way. This is when the most learning happens as the children get to experience first hand what works well and what doesn't. We are so happy and proud of FS children and their engagement with VSE, so a big thank you to the parents for supporting us in that.”  - Miss Bliss.

“The latest switch to online learning provided FS3 with an opportunity to not only work on their technology skills but also to become active members of our global community.

Global Campus is used by older students around the world as a way to learn together and celebrate achievements. This year, Nord Anglia teachers made a big push towards creating a space for their younger students to share this platform as well. 

Using introductory videos aimed at parents and students, we have already seen lots of Tigers, Leopard and Lions taking part in their first activity! Inspired by the Forest School’s latest task, FS3 got outside and created beautiful butterflies from nature, whilst also learning about symmetry.

Year 2 - Superheroes

The Topic in Year 2 this term is Superheroes, and the students have been busy making superhero cuffs that look fabulous.

In Literacy, the Year 2s have been looking at the book ‘Superworm’ and writing expanded noun phrases about the characters and setting.

Year 4 - Chocolate Artwork

The Year 4s have been busy working on their chocolate topic this week, creating some fantastic chocolate artwork based on Jackson Pollock and also the ‘pop art’ style. This made me feel very hungry looking at these pictures.

Some Year 4 students have also entered the FOBISIA writing competition on the theme of ‘SPARK’. Here is an extract from Ryshi’s work in 4J. Fire Pits by Ryshi 4J

Arrangements for picking children up in the afternoon

Below is a summary of how and where you can pick your child up after school...

• FS1-Y1 - One adult per child will be allowed on campus at pick-up time to collect children from their classroom.
• Y2 & Y3  - Year 2 & Year 3 children will be brought to the Sports Hall at 2.30 pm. Parents/Guardians can collect them from this location.
• Y4 - Y6 - Parents/drivers should download and use the KidsUp app (School Code: STA) to ensure that  picking up KS2 children from the Main Car Park is smooth and orderly. You can find out more about KidsUp app by watching this video guide in either Thai or English.
• Y4 - Y6 children with Y2 & 3 siblings should accompany them to the Sports Hall for pick up.                                        

Please remember that Pridi 20 must not be used for pick up. Also during this time of restricted access, it is strongly recommended that you use the off-site parking at Suk 71 and/or the offsite parking & shuttle service from Max Valu on 71.

Primary Family Support Team
Providing support to our community is a priority for our school. We are delighted to share with you a new development with the introduction of our Family Support Team. This new channel is devoted to our current St Andrews families who require non-academic support for queries pertaining to ID badges, ECAs, School Events or other general questions.
