Staff Profile: Ms Evelyn

Evelyn Loy

Year 2 Teacher

I have a passion for writing and she studied for an Undergraduate degree in English and Creative Writing at the University of Salford, and graduating in 2012. In 2013 she then started a Post Graduate Certificate in Education at Edge Hill University, specialising in English, and completed this in 2014. During Evelyn’s time as a PGCE student, she trained in a variety of schools in the town of Blackpool. She then completed her NQT year, teaching a Year 3 class in a Community school in Poulton-Le-Fylde, Blackpool. After this induction year in the UK Evelyn then pursued international teaching and worked as a Year 1 teacher at a small, International School in Bangkok. She worked there for three years before securing a job here at St Andrews International School Bangkok in 2018.

I grew up in the seaside town of Blackpool, in the North-West of England, and has always had an affinity with travelling and experiencing new places and cultures. She is an energetic person who enjoys cooking, and tries her best to replicate delicious Thai dishes at home. In her spare time Evelyn likes to go running, play badminton and explore Bangkok; searching for new restaurants that pop up around the city.

The fantastic Inclusion programme and the amazing staff-team-spirit that takes place.

"Miss Evelyn always reads us cool stories, with fun and funny voices too!"
