Having finished a BA in Product Design I pursued my desire to teach at the University of Wales in Cardiff, Wales. After gaining my teaching qualification I immediately travelled to America to work at a summer camp for underprivileged children. This camp experience had been a long held desire and allowed me the opportunity to work with children from a completely different culture and background for the first time. Returning to the UK, I began my career at a local community school with pupils from difficult backgrounds and developed my teaching and classroom management skills.
A desire to teach a completely different type of pupil and in another culture took me to Peru two years after beginning my career. This gave me the opportunity to teach in a leading British school in South America and experience teaching in a high achieving school with pupils whose first language was not English. After two wonderful years I made the decision to come to Asia and specifically Bangkok. I was keen to come to what I had been told was a vibrant and cultured city to explore Asian culture. Having seen many schools, I decided to join St. Andrews International School Bangkok as the school has an excellent reputation for taking all types of pupils, focusing on putting the pupils first and giving them a happy positive environment to grow.
I’m an energetic person, loud and fun. In my spare time I love to play sports, particularly football. Music, singing and songwriting has always been a passion and I hope to continue that in Bangkok. Teaching has given me the opportunity to pursue a love of travelling and I’m trying to see as much of the incredible world we live in as possible.
